Eye-catching details inside and out make this Charles County home especially appealing to those looking for style and space. The sun-drenched contemporary is first on a secluded cul-de-sac in Indian Head and has six bedrooms and six marble bathrooms.

The town of Indian Head is bisected by Maryland 210, Indian Head Highway, and is just minutes away from shopping in Waldorf.

With a dramatic arched entrance featuring stone and stucco, the all-brick house with an attached three-car garage beckons curious passersby to come in and see what this residence has to offer.

Visitors will not be disappointed. They are welcomed into the home by way of a soaring vaulted foyer ceiling with four skylights. Inlaid travertine marble floors help highlight this sunny entrance while also adding sophistication in the adjacent formal dining room.

Large windows with wood blinds, rounded walls and extra tall doorways all stand out.

The foyer separates the dining room from the home’s living room. Both feature a unique ceiling design, and the dining room is home to one of many trendy light fixtures found throughout the main level.

Marble floors give way to hardwood floors in the living room. This versatile room is currently used as a game room, as the homeowner found it to be the ideal space for a billiards table. This space opens directly into a side sunroom with walls of windows.

A spacious family room and kitchen are in the rear portion of the home. The family room is warmed by a gas fireplace with black marble surround in one corner of the room. Recessed lights and a stylish fan highlight the ceiling, while another large picture window offers plenty of daylight.

On the other side of a rounded wall is where you’ll find a kitchen fit for two cooks. With ample cabinet and counter space, there are also two dishwashers and two sinks with one of each conveniently placed within the island.

The two-tiered center island also doubles as a breakfast bar. It has room for several stools and features three pendant light fixtures. There is additional dining space in the breakfast room overlooking the grounds and deck.

The cherry cabinets and granite counters are fashionable upgrades, especially when paired with the stainless steel Frigidaire appliances. A desk area with glass cabinet doors and a walk-in pantry rounds out the kitchen.

Back in the foyer, there is a full bathroom complete with a deep jetted tub and a trendy sink. Tall doorways stand out on the main level.

Nearby, a home office with double doors boasts built-ins and is a peaceful space to work or read. This room can also be utilized as a first-floor bedroom, if desired.

There are four bedrooms on the top level and another on the lower level. The hardwood staircase itself is an expression in creativity. Instead of spindles, the railing has several glass rectangular cutouts.

At the top of the stairs, there is a feeling of spaciousness as the hall is wide and the rooms aren’t bunched up together. One of the great features for family members and guests is that each of the bedrooms has its own full bathroom, eliminating the need for a hall bath.

While each of the bedrooms is spacious, there is no mistaking which one is the master suite. The 25-foot-by-25-foot bedroom and 18-foot-by-20-foot adjoining sitting room offers a retreat after a long day.

The sleeping quarters comes with a chocolate-colored accent wall and a dual-sided fireplace that separates it from the sitting room. The sitting room is large enough to act as a second family room and features a wet bar.

In addition to the bedroom entry door, there are also double doors leading to both the walk-in closet and the sumptuous master bath. This marble bathroom rivals the size of many bedrooms and has plenty of open space in the middle.

There are his-and-hers sinks and vanity areas with cherry cabinets, a larger steam shower, step-up whirlpool tub and a separate closet for the toilet.

Each of the other three bedrooms on this level have a walk-in closet, and one of them comes with a skylight in the private bath. There’s also a large laundry closet in the hall.

A stairway off the main-level hall leads down into the walk-out basement. Double doors open to reveal a home theater with a projector and screen.

The light teal painted walls are a nice touch in this theater, which features an elevated floor for maximum viewing and convenient built-ins for a movie library.

This lower level is an entertainer’s dream and comes with a huge custom bar, game room and a full bathroom. Neutral-colored Berber carpeting covers the floor, but there are blue and burgundy accent walls for splashes of color.
