Seen and heard at Nationals Park

Evidently no one told Washington Nationals owner Mark Lerner the superstition of not talking to the starting pitcher before the game — or no one wanted to remind him of it.

Lerner spent about 20 minutes at Tim Redding’s locker before last night’s game with the Marlins, chatting up the right-hander as the two watched coverage of the Players Championship.
