Slumping sales are the iceberg threatening to sink the recording industry — but veteran folk singer Patty Griffin is one artist who’s not going down with the ship. Her February release, “Children Running Through,” is her highest debut to date (No. 34 on the Billboard 200 in its first week). In the past few months, the singer-songwriter has been lapping up stellar reviews, appearing on late-night TV and taking her show on the road. This evening, Miss Griffin and crew set up shop in the District for a performance at 8 at the Warner Theatre (513 13th St. NW). Tickets are $39.50. Call 202/783-4000 or visit www.warnertheatre.com.
