    • The Washington Times welcomes rookie safety Chris Horton to LIVE CHAT. by David_Eldridge, moderator
    • Answer: Thanks for having me here. Sorry I am a little late. I was doing some extra film work. It's Cowboys week! by
    • Chris, how does all this "Dallas Week" rivalry stuff hit a rookie? Is this something you pick up on, or does the "most-hated rival" thing take a couple of years? by Washington DC
    • Answer: You really won't know until you get into the game, because as players everything you do in practice is the same each and every week. When we get to Texas Stadium, I'll start to understand it more by how the players react to each other. by
    • All you have to do this weekend: Cover TO and Witten in the passing lanes AND stick yourself into the holes in the line to stop Marion Barber. Talk about some tough assginments! by Washington DC
    • Answer: You are right, those are some tough assignments, but we have 11 players out there so I work with and depend on my teammates to make it work. It is not just about what they do, but more importantly what we do. by
    • Speaking of Barber and Witten -- which will be your primary responsibility on Sunday? by Washington DC
    • Answer: Both. Being that they are really talented football players, you can't take your eye off of either of them. by
    • Two interceptions and a fumble recovery earned you Defensive Player of the Week honors against the Saints ... congratulations, and have you gotten a call from Nike yet? Seriously, that's got to be a big boost for a young player ... by Washington DC
    • Answer: I actually already have a contract with Nike. The award was definitely a great accomplishment and I am proud of it, but there is so much more I want to accomplish this season and in my career. Being named NFC Defensive Player of the Week was great because there are some tremendous players who have gone their entire careers without getting it. by
    • Drafted in the 7th round last spring -- is that a motivator for you? by Washington DC
    • Answer: Being drafted in the seventh round is not what motivates me. Having the opportunity to play and and step out on the practice field each and every day is what motivates me. The fact that I know that I can play this game is just another reason to give my all when I am out there. by
    • Chris, TO got deep on the safeties last year, as I'm sure you know. How does the secondary keep that from happening Sunday? by Washington DC
    • Answer: We just have to come out and play assignment football. We can't have any mental errors. by
    • Chris, I'm always fascinated by athletes who know what they're going to do after their playing days. I know that's probably a long way off for you, but have you given it any thought? by Washington DC
    • Answer: I just started playing professional football so my focus has not really been on what I am going to do after even though I know you are a play away from being out of the league. I have some stuff in the back of my mind of what I want to do, but hopefully that won't be for a long time. by
    • Being from New Orleans, you must have had a little twinge of guilt, helping to dismantle the Saints a couple of weeks ago. Did you have some split loyalties among your family and friends for that game? Can you talk about what the Saints have meant to that city in the past couple of years? by Washington DC
    • Answer: I definitely did not have any guilt. My grandmother was at the game that day and she is a diehard Saints fan, but she was rooting for the Redskins. I also had a lot of friends tell me it was a bitter-sweet victory. The city is still trying to rebuild, but to have a team like the Saints put out such great effort on Sundays, it is a way for people to come together and take their minds off all the struggles. by
    • How about ALL burgundy uniforms this Sunday...I think ALL fans have been curious to see this combo. by Greensboro, NC
    • Answer: That is really not in our control as players. The home team actually gets to choose what color jersey they will wear. In Dallas' case, they always wear white at home so we will be wearing burgandy jerseys, but I think we will be sticking with the white pants. by
    • Chris, you had some sacks in college -- are the Redskins sending you after the QB yet? It might be fun, watching you zero in on Romo ... by Washington DC
    • Answer: I did have some sacks in college. Most of them came in one game against Arizona State. Right now, I am just a role player so I do whatever it takes to keep getting myself on the field. by
    • What did you get for being named NFC player of the week, 2 weeks ago.....trophy, money??? by Washington, DC
    • Answer: I didn't get anything other than recognition from the league. There was no money involved despite from what you might have heard. Some of the veterans tried to trick me and tell me there was a subtantial monetary reward, but that is the case. After each win, the coaches award offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week and those players receive the best parking spots for that week so I did get to park in the front that week. by
    • Chris, thanks for joining us at WashingtonTimes.com today, let's do this again. Come back anytime. by David_Eldridge
    • Answer: Thanks for having me on today. It was fun answering all the fans' questions. Thank you for supporting us and I will talk to you again soon. by
