According to Obama there is no crisis anywhere.
I'd check my sources a little better if I were this reporter. Try this one: http://web.stratfor.com/images/northamerica/map/naval-map-800-080820.jpg . As of 8/20, it shows the USS Roosevelt snug in its home port on the US East Coast, not rushing off to a blockade.
The sources this reporter relied upon were most likely articles from Kuwaiti and Israeli newpapers, who in turn only quoted anonymous sources.
The USS Reagan will probably head to the Gulf area soon, as part of normal carrier rotation. The ship just made a port visit to Kuala Lumpur, so they don't seem to be in much of a hurry.
I'd also like to say that repeating unverified and untrue reports like this one could lead to more bloodshed. Iran is making the most of these reports, using them as propaganda: http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=66972§ionid=351020104 . Kuwait is strengthening their defenses also. And yet there is not one single name attached to any of the so-called "sources," and the Roosevelt is sitting quietly here at home. We don't need ramp up the tension in the Middle East by repeating false reports. It's bad enough as it is.
