Gullibility is a necessary ingredient in American politics. Gullibility abounds in America.

A time-table has been set by the Iraqi Parliament for withdrawal of American forces. Despite the grumbling and denial of the left, the conflict in Iraq will most likely prove to be a great success. The US will have an ally where once stood a foe in an ever tumultuous region. Obama gets this, and realizes that if he screws up the gains made in Iraq, he and the Democrats will once again demonstrate their inepitude when it comes to national security and defense. With the ever growing threat of terrorism, he does not want that monkey on his back going into 2012. http://timetorevoltamerica.blogspot.com

We would have never been at war in Iraq or Afghanistan had Slick Willy done his job during his 8 years of presidency. Remember that the WTC was bombed during his watch and the USS Cole was bombed during his watch and Osama Bin Laden was cornered 3 times and Slick Willy let him go "because he was not a threat to us".

The Russians were fighting terrorist building schools etc, and what did the USA under Bush41 do? Why the USA supported the terrorist, and it came back to bite us in the rear. Prescott Bush, Bush41 and now the bottom of the barrel Bush, screw ups seem to be a family trait.

Truthspeaker, it as Carter who originally supported the Afghanistan "rebels" in their battle against the Russians, as it was Carter who was in office when Russia invaded Afghanistan in 1979, remember? I do. It was Carter who implemented the policies to arm and train the Mujaheddin, who later became the Taliban. Reagan, and Bush Sr., merely followed the policies that Carter put into place. If you're going to blame anyone, blame Carter, as it all started with him. For someone who has named yourself "truthspeaker," you sure seem to avoid the actual truth as often as possible.

But it was Reagan,Bush and CIA director Casey who turned it into a crusade, after all these were Godless communist.

It's good to see even though BO ran as a left winger, it appears he is going to govern as a moderate. At least he seems to be w/ all the Clinton and Bush people he is putting in positions of power. What was that Change thing again? The left got snookered again.

Once again, as with the "tax cuts for the rich" which Obama was going to eliminate and now is going to continue, Obama is finding out that what Bush did was the RIGHT thing to do. Of course, now that it is OBAMA that is doing this, the mainsteam media will no doubt discover how wise it is to keep the troops there, just as it dicovered how wise it was to keep the tax cuts in place - and you can forget about any middle class tax cut. Bad news for the left - expect more disappointment as Obama is forced to keep in place more and more policies set by Bush. The next disappointment is going to be when Obama finds out that he can't close Guantanomo because to do so would be to jeopordize America's security. Naturally, the decision will also be praised by a fawning mainstream media for whom Obama can do no wrong - witness the gushing coverage of virtually every decision made by his administration, including the new "flexible" approach to Iraq. Naturally, that "flexible" appriach was what was intended all along - Bad news to you leftists - "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" - OBAMA turns out to be Bush II! The left is just so hypocritical - it makes one want to gag!

Obama will be playing the cards he has been presented with. He will be playing Bush's hand albeit much better. But the game has not started. He will keep his promise the Bush tax cuts will be phased out.

I think that liberals have a basic misconception. When they take their history courses what do they learn about previous wars? The first thing, and I might guess, the only thing they remember are the dates. After seeing that the Revolutionary War was from 1775-1783, WWII was from 1939-1945 etc. etc, a liberal comes to the conclusion that wars are executed on a strict timeline. The result is that a liberal simply believes that a war always has a fixed and predermined start, and especially end date. During the campaign Obama seemed to think the same thing. I guess he has now been educated a bit more to reality. Either that or he knew the mentality of his base and simply played to it.

Question of the day

Supporters say Sarah Palin scored in her Tea Party appearance, while critics are having a field day with Mrs. Palin's "hand-o-prompter" (the notes she scribbled on her palm). Who is right?
