BEING A MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL IS A PRIVILEDGE THRU OUR LORD AN SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST-WE ALL NEED TO PRAY AN ASK GOD FOR CLEAR DIRECTION ON THIS MATTER,BUT WHEN WE USE THE WISDOM THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US,-WE CAN CLEARLY SEE WHAT CHOICE WE HAVE. SEN. BARAAK IS A CHRISTIAN,A MAN OF GODLY PRINCIPLES--NO ONE IS PERFECT-HE IS UNDER GREAT PRESSURE TO SAY ALL THE RIGHT THINGS-THE CHURCH HAS BEEN PRAYING AND HOPING FOR CHANGE & NOW WE HAVE IT.PLEASE READ DEUT.30:19...

The sad reality is that the comments reflect an unbelievable assertion that race is motivating voters to pledge their support for a candidate regardless of his stance politically. Is it possible Obama represents hope in a country that is bereft of systemic change? These ministers are endemic of a society that has reached a point of hopelessness and they need to be mindful that they must take an apolitical position in regarding politics.

Apparently Blacks will be voting for Barack because he is black. That makes sense! As a white guy I'll be voting for the White Candidate; what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

What the article really says is that conservative black pastors are caught between voting with their heads or with their hearts. I do no believe that any true Christian (of any race) can in good conscience, support a man who believes that babies that survive abortions have no rights. Politicians who support abortion and gay marriage will help to bering this country down from within.

This article is a sobering reminder of the crossroad our nation is at. The ministers who are warning their congregations about Obama are on the right side and are speaking the tough truths of the Gospel of Christ. The current conditions and problems that are hitting the country is because of the moral relativism the Christian Church is exhibiting. Obama is the poster boy of one of the things that is wrong with Christianity in America today.

Everything said at this point is going to go by the way side in the coming, and actual, Presidential Election. We will see the VP's, and I believe that will make a difference, but when we choose, we better choose right because we ARE sliding backwards. You know... making Sharpton a write in candidate might tell McCain and Obama something important. Maybe Lou Dobbs.

The most basic duty of any government -- the primal reason for government in the first place -- is this: To Protect the Weak and Defenseless from the Strong and Powerful. This idea is even embodied in our Declaration of Independence, to wit: "We hold these truths to be SELF-EVIDENT, that ALL men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men..." I don't know of any person more weak and defenseless than an unborn child. Yet, the Damocratic Party deliberately and proudly refuses to see that they are failing to uphold the most basic duty entrusted to them: to Protect the Weak and the Defenseless. This is worse than Hypocrisy -- it is Evil; pure and simple. God made man in His image. Abortion is nothing less than the work of Satan to come against the image of God. Woe to all who join him in this evil work. It's painfully obvious after 35 years of Roe v. Wade that a vote for a Damocrat is a vote for abortion. Until they change their party platform on abortion, I can NEVER, in good conscience, vote for one of them -- no matter what else they may stand for.

I cannot see how a you can call someone who supports abortion and homosexual behavior a "godly" man. Your definition of "godly" comes from some other place than mine. Surely not from the Word of God.

In addition to reading Deuteronomy 30:19 (as suggested by deepee1), also take a look at Isaiah 5:20 and 2nd Timothy 4:3. I believe we are in those times. Maranatha!

Black pastors are not the only ones who face this dilemna; white pastors face the same situation. When I pastored a church in Illinois and raised the same issues (the non-Christian values of certain political leaders), I was condemned and attacked by church members who refused to vote according to Christian values. They could think only of economics (remember the slogan, "It's about the economy, Stupid."), or tolerance for everything (such as ungodly lifestyles). If an organization (e.g., National Teachers Union) supported a particular politician, then they voted for that politician regardless of the politicians non-Christian values. What is truly sad is that we proclaim to be a "christian nation," but many, many so-called Christians do not live or vote according to Christian values. So, God may just allow America to have a president who says one thing (I'm a Christian), but who lives, practices, condones, and encourages non-Christian values. We've been down this road before with a president who tried to parse his way out of ungodly actions, and our nation was greatly harmed. It may very well happen again. God says "Do not have any other gods before Me." And, just like anything else, "race" can become a god that overshadows everything else. But, God will not be mocked; nor will He be dethroned. In the end, His ways will prevail.

If we like freedom, we will need to band together and demand accountability. I'm really relieved that these pastors are speaking out, this really has been painful to watch.

To deepee1: The wisdom God has given us is to steer clear of Senator Obama and Christians of his ilk are no more than this and the change that will come will be a further decent into darkness: 2 Timothy 3 Godlessness in the Last Days 3You must understand this, that in the last days distressing times will come. 2For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, brutes, haters of good, 4treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to the outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid them! 6For among them are those who make their way into households and captivate silly women, overwhelmed by their sins and swayed by all kinds of desires, 7who are always being instructed and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people, of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith, also oppose the truth. 9But they will not make much progress, because, as in the case of those two men,* their folly will become plain to everyone.

People of God,where is our discernment. The previous ones that we have voted in have been involved in all kinds of ungod ly acts behind the scenes and then prese nt themselves as christians. How about their discretion is nothing but immorali ty wrapped in good breeding. Obama has enough sense to know that people are going to do what people are going to do and all we can do is pray. By the way, is the alternative vote better. We really need to ask ourselves. Think people.

Call me old fashion, but I don't believe you CAN be a true Christian, filled with the Holy Spirit, and support late term abortions (much less killing children that miraculously survive one). The Supreme court and the lives of millions of children are riding on this election. Christians who vote for Obama should be ashamed of themselves.

I wonder if pro-abortion African-Americans realize that whenever a black woman has an abortion, a black baby dies before it is born. Obama shows as little respect for human life as any pro-abortion person of any color.
