CreepingDeath

What seems to have been overlooked here are numerous factors, first and foremost we must ask ourselves 'is a fetus the only human life here?' Obviously the answer is no. What about all the people that are dying over in Iraq? Are those not people too? Which candidate wanted to continue that war indefinitely? Which candidate wants to quickly end that war? What about our other Catholic values? What does 1 Timothy 6:10 say? Which candidate espouses equality? Which candidate seemed to be less concerned about that? What does our faith say about helping those in need? If our brother is hungry should we not feed him? What if our brother is dying of sickness, does he not deserve health care? You see, the question is not a superficial, easy black and white issue with only one thing to consider. The greatest good for the greatest number of people is what I kept foremost in mind as I cast my ballot.

My dear “CreepingDeath” (appropriate!) “What about all the people that are dying over in Iraq? Are those not people too?” ....What about all the people that are no longer suffering horrible deaths in Saddam’s Iraq? Were those not people too? “Which candidate wanted to continue that war indefinitely?” Which candidate wanted to stay until the people could become strong and confident enough to protect themselves? “Which candidate wants to quickly end that war?” ....Which one wants to leave and turn his head away and pretend that that kind of evil doesn’t exist? “What about our other Catholic values? What does 1 Timothy 6:10 say? Which candidate espouses equality? Which candidate seemed to be less concerned about that?” ....I don’t know the bible so much, but it just seems a bit obvious that Mr Obama did everything he could to destroy the female candidate in his own party, and then proceeded to try to totally smear and degrade the 'accomplished' female who had the nerve to run on that (sexist?) Republican’s ticket. “What does our faith say about helping those in need? If our brother is hungry should we not feed him? What if our brother is dying of sickness, does he not deserve health care?" ....Again, I am not the most educated Catholic, but I was under the impression that God/Jesus was speaking of my own (each individual’s) obligation to care for those in need of food or care. I remember nothing about stealing from one to give to another in order to make me (or a politician) look good and generous. As a matter of fact, I believe that was frowned upon, am I wrong? (Have you helped your neighbor or paid for his Dr visit with 'your own money' lately?) ....Back to your first question.. and your last comment. “What seems to have been overlooked here are numerous factors, first and foremost we must ask ourselves 'is a fetus the only human life here?' Obviously the answer is no.” ....Obviously?!?! “You see, the question is not a superficial, easy black and white issue with only one thing to consider. The greatest good for the greatest number of people is what I kept foremost in mind as I cast my ballot.” .... Anyone have the exact number of “human” (your word) fetus that have been sacrificed for the greater good? ....I believe you ARE right about one thing. It is not an “easy black and white” issue. It is an easy 'right and wrong’ issue. PS Remember, your children are watching and listening to how little you value a single human life. Or if you are not blessed with children, you may have to depend on your government to decide your 'value' as you age.
