Maybe someone should inform the Messiah that Gore, Hollywood and the UN panel all lied about global warming to stop the Cap and Trade on CO2 which will cost America 3 million jobs in the short term.

I would put the whole thing in a different context. We are running a huge experiment with the environment and we are in the test tube. An experiment, by definition, has an undefined outcome. There is much more to this than the climate. For example, carbon dioxide combines with water to for a weak acid, carbonic acid. Are we acidifying the oceans? What effect will that have? We should be doing what we reasonably can do to minimize the size of the experment.

Global Warming was a disaster insurance scam for Al Gore. Is anyone going to ask for their money back? It resulted in cap and trade legislation which brings about politically correct taxes when taxes are taboo. Is anyone going to ask to rescind the Lieberman-Warner Cap and Trade Bill? NOOOOOO! The Democrats will lose control of the energy industry and right after they gave it to the beady eyed Waxman. They have control of the lending, the banks, and the mortgage industries. The are pressuring for control of the auto industry. By rescinding cap and trade, they would lose the ability to control the coal, natural gas and the oil industry. "Equally important is the assertion of democratic control over private resources such as insurance and credit, making them available for socially responsible investment as well as over land, raw materials, and manufacturing infrastructure." - Democratic Socialists of America, Where we stand, Section 4. It's all part of the plan. "Reduced military expenditures and more equitable taxation represent the only sources of funds on the scale needed to provide the social programs required to ameliorate declining living standards." - DSA, Section 4. Barney Frank asked for a 25% reduction in military spending right after the bailout was announced. WHAT IS DANAGEROUS ABOUT THE ENTIRE SCAM IS THAT WE ARE MAKING CONTINGENCY PLANS FOR WARMING AND THE PLANET MAY BE COOLING. INSTEAD OF DEVELOPING MORE AVAILABLE ENERGY, WE ARE BOGGED DOWN IN PLANS FOR GLOBAL GOVERNANCE. HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL STARVE OR FREEZE TO DEATH BECAUSE IT. Don't worry, be happy, everything will be alright. :)

When the masses can't think for themselves, others will do it for them. They don't have to be right, they just have to be persistent. "Climate change" from "Global Warming" is called hedging your bet. Gore is the one eyed man in the land of the blind, and he was almost President.

hipshot: Do you also use the Precautionary Principle in your everyday life? Do you not use mechanical transportation because you might be killed? Tough world you folks must live in, being scared all the time and afraid to even breathe because you're such a generator of CO2 pollution. Oh, and don't go outside since a plane may fall on you. For the sane people, recent published science has discovered huge amounts of CO2 coming from the ground by those funny little microbe things that eat carbon and produce CO2. Another nail in the coffin of the theory of human caused global warming. I propose an experiment, I will pick 10 people and hipshot and we will gather at the top of the Empire State Building at noon January 1, 2009. We will vote to see if there is consensus that hipshot can defy gravity and jump safely off the building. See you there hipshot.

Not only is this CO2 BS being currently being debunked by the growth of polar ice & record low temps, but as cedarhill has already pointed out, EVERY LIVING THING produces CO2! So what is this garbage? The weather tools on the news can't even say with any certainty if it'll rain or not by the end of a week's span of time. And we're supposed to take the UN's "say anything for more globalism" phony science numbers on faith?! The same body that comissioned a scientist to come out & basically say that we need to eat less beef & consume less dairy b/c cow gas is a huge contributor to the amount of CO2. WOW!!! Stuff like this should be on the front page of the Enquirer instead of a multi national body. Although I can't say I'm surprised, given all the corruption, anti Semetism, anti Americanism, & anti capitalism that's already seeped out of that den of rats. Take the the whole lot of em, stick em in the Hague, demolish the decrepit building, & give New York their prime real estate back.

Mr. Pruden, your column is always excellent, and this is one of the more enjoyable ones. Kudos to Gene44, soxconn, dittoman, cedarhill and Navybrat! Al Gore the ozone boy is busy reinventing his zinc mines.

Now that is an inconvienent truth. But not to worry. Our union controled public education system will make sure the kids do not have the abiliy to think critically...always to be influenced by the next PT Barnum.

Excellent, Mr. Pruden. Once again facts show the democrat party enjoys shaking their constituents with fear mentally tossing them this way and that. Obama's cabinet selections is another glaring example of mentaly thrusting supporters all over the place. Change and hope, sickening demagagory now clearly turns into a third Clinton term and more lies and deception with individuals basking in popularity based on nothing but carisma as once super power America slides backwards to third world status and developing nations catch up and even surpass in science and technology and quality of life. It's another example of affirmative action on a global scale.

Remember both of our candidates for President embraced the global warming doctrine. I find it very disturbing that NASA scientists would be part of this type of, what you seem to describe as scientific fraud. As a weather observer. most of time since I was ten years old, I have always been a skeptic of global warming. Even getting weather observations right and preparing weather maps can be difficult and subject to interpretation. Minor errors in weather map preparation can really effect forecast accuracy. These issues are still being resolved. Building computer models on this can result in weaker results than one might expect. There are FEWER weather observation sights around the world than in 1960. One cannot really on satellite observations, either. Many times comparisons for observed ground temperature versus computed satellite temperature can be 10 degrees ( five degrees Centigrade ) off. particularly in winter. The scientific community is facing the same credibility crisis as the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages, when they were debating about the number of angels that can be on the head of a pin, etc. We all know what happened, don't we? Both political candidates had: a demonstrated ignorance of economics b. espouse socialistic policies towards business c. both love global warming doctrine d. both support fetal stem cell research. Now, what choice did we really have this year, anyway?

How long will it take the left to realize that big government interference into our lives won't change the cooling tempatures caused by the sun going into a cooling cycle?

roach9703: please do tell us what happened, re: the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages. Are you referring to the fact that the Catholic Church returned to doctrine and faith vice human greed and hubris?

Oh no! Global Warming, please come back! I don't like cold weather. I'd enjoy warm sunny November days, burrrrr. That's it, I need to drive big cars and put many cows in our back yard so that more CO2 would be emitted, and maybe... just maybe... the Warm Days will be back again!! "Hope" that we can believe in!!
