The government's treatment of the illegal-immigration mess illustrates perfectly the new political-structure which has gone unnoticed by the public: the nationwide working-coalition between the supercapitalists who control the flow of most of the money, and the (Gramsci-Marxist) supersocialists who shape public opinion in America. All federal politicians need large infusions of money, and friendly treatment by the liberal media (America's earflappers); so the politicians have been easy prey for that coalition. The supersocialists want to flood the U.S. with illegal Hispanics to pump up the ranks of the Democratic party, and to replace the worn-out blacks as their battering ram with which to destroy the existing society and replace it with a socialist workers'-paradise. The supercapitalists want to flood the U.S. with illegal Hispanics to cut American wages to a pittance, so they themselves can get richer quicker. The result, re illegal immigration: the Demopublican Congress sought amnesty for the tens of millions of illegals already here. That amnesty (contrary to the assurances of those politicians)would swiftly have sunk the nation under the weight of many times more illegals in the near future; but Demopublican President Bush cheered on that proposed legislation. The American public, infuriated that the illegals were even then swamping and bankrupting their states' social-welfare systems, and were poised to destroy their quality of life by gutting the national wage-rate, demanded that the federal government do its most basic duty: defend our borders. The Congress grudgingly decreed that the administration build a few hundred miles of fence on our southern border--and that would, of course, stop the flood of Hispanics from crossing our 1952-mile Mexican border illegally. And at every level from Demopublican President Bush on down, the Bush administration did everything possible to keep the illegals flooding in. For example, it had--by the middle of 2008--built 190 miles of fence intended to stop Hispanics from illegally crossing our border. But lo! even that pittance turns out not to be 190 miles of people-proof fencing. It is actually bits and pieces of fence, which are connected by "virtual" fences (i.e., no fences) of surveillance equipment, to be monitored by the Border Patrol (now fittingly renamed "ICE"), that the Washington Times has reported does not work. Also, the Bush administration sent the powerful message that it wants the Border Patrol to ignore the illegals, by prosecuting and sending to jail two Border Patrol agents who tried to do their job by shooting a Mexican drug-smuggler. And the Bush administration has done nothing about the Mexican military-personnel (apparently in the pay of Mexican drug-lords) who have invaded the U.S. and fired upon Border Patrol agents. Such is the power of the working coalition of supersocialists and supercapitalists in America.

Well said collardgreens1! Another option is to divide the country into two zones, East and West. When a raid produces illegals the border patrol shuttles them to San Francisco for the West and Boston for the East. They are both sanctuary cities and would be happy to take them in and protect them as well as educate, house, feed and use the emergency rooms as a doctors office. Then and only then can we skip down the rosy lane of true compassion.
