Obama knows he can control gun ownership just like the environmentalists control energy, restrictive legislation using social relativism and the health and safety clauses of the Constitution. Look at his energy plan, it is an environmental plan. With a supermajority, rescinding the drilling approval will be an overnight event. Using the D.C. model for gun control will be just as easy. Congressional legislation will move directly into the homes and put so many constraints on registration, guns and ammunition that they will become useless for anything but storage items. So much for the Second Amendment. Don't forget, before the "Krystal Nacht" the National Socialists confiscated all the guns from the Jewish people they were going to arrest.

Let's not forget more recent events in Canada, Australia and the UK. Your right soxcom, None of the country’s above failed to confiscate private weapons within 10 years of requiring registration.

I certainly agree with Richard the First and soxconn. What continually amazes me is what appears to be the slavish attitudes of the Obamaites. No one seems able to get them to listen to history, recent or not-so-recent. When confronted, their eyes seem to glaze over and each follower repeats the party line, regardless of what the question to them might have been. They seem to act like cultists; those who blindly follow a leader regardless of his known propensities and regardless of facts that would prove them wrong. Reminds me of seeing on TV cult members belonging to groups like those following Reverend Moon, or the Jonestown crowd, or even the cheering crowds in Germany during the 1930's and '40s. I believe we are in for dangerous times if the turkey wins, particularly after he tries -- repeat tries -- to confiscate firearms from U.S. citizens.

All gun registration has ever done is end in confiscation, some states are moving away from registration, and well they should, while people like Obama want to destroy the Constitution by "re-interperting" one amendment in the Bill of Rights. If you can take away one right by doing this you can take away all rights by doing this. Wake up America all of our rights are under attack by the gun control groups.

Mr. Obama's campaign Web site states: "Barack Obama believes the Second Amendment creates an individual right, and he respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms." Obama respects the right to bear arms how? By voting to restrict that right at each and every opportunity. Look, if Obama and his campaign are going to lie about his position on this matter, they might as well do it right. If Obama believes the 2A "creates" a right, he is flatly incorrect (which also belies his lack of understanding). The text of the amendment refers to "the" right, and states only that it shall not be infringed. Moreover, the Supreme Court has at least twice affirmed the right's pre-existence and that it does not depend on the constitution's existence (Cruickshank, 1876 and Heller, 2008). The 2A does not create, give, grant, or construct. It only commands that the government "shall not infringe" the right of the people to own and carry arms. Obama misses on this issue in a fundamental way.

AHSA is a joke. Nobody in my part of the country believes their assurances that Obama is pro-second amendment. I guess their ineffectuality is why the Dems pulled their commercial off the air waves. The economy moves up and down in cycles despite politicians' assurances that they can change that. The economy is going to get better regardless of who is elected as President. However, gun laws tend to become permanent especially with the outlook being for a newly radicalized Congress next year. As pointed out below about what happened in Canada, Australia, and the UK, gun owners who value their freedom should think long and hard about forfeiting their Second Amendment rights in return for a few scraps from Obama's largesse confiscated from the earnings of other people. Neither the Congress nor a President Obama will remember or respect the concerns of the gun owners who voted them in. If you're thinking about owning a gun, better buy it now. If you need more ammo, better stock up. It's going to be a long 4 years.

Schoenke correctly pointed out that El Presidente Obama will not be able to confiscate, or ban, guns, according to the Supreme Court. But, then again, he CAN change the make-up of the court, when the time comes. They (the democraps) can also tax arms and ammunition out of existence, which is being proposed by super-driver Kennedy, Chucky Schumer, Biden, Frank, and others. VOTE THE BUMS OUT. Lock and Load.

One other thing, folks. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a RIGHT. It can not, for now, be taken away by the Government. VOTING, however, is a PRIVILEGE, and can be removed at any time by a tyrannical leadership. Obama recently complained about the Constitution, and I believe that he will attempt to change it, even though he has to swear to protect and defend it. Of course, it will be changed incrementally, as with all our former freedoms. Lock and Load.

As we have seen in the last several elections, the Republican Party has made a science out of voter caging, mostly against minorities and other non-republican voters. Thank you for warning us to be careful next Tuesday. When you say, "Lock and Load", are you referring to protecting the 2nd. Amendment ONLY, or are you also including the 4th. Amendment, which has been severely damaged by GW Bush, or to Habeaus Corpus, your right not to be impriosned without trial, also severely damaged by GW Bush??

Never in the history of war has a prisoner been given the rights and privileges of a citizen of the country which captured him. Never, that is, until the Democrats, the press, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg (among others) decided that our enemies deserved these rights and privileges. For a Citizen, absolutely! For our enemies, absolutely not! I proudly served this country in uniform for 27 years, after swearing to Protect and Defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign, and DOMESTIC. Does that help clear your liberally muddled mind? Lock and Load.

Lock and Load. -------------- Y'know, I remember reading how back in WW2 German prisoners, in POW camps in Arizona and New Mexico, were given GREATER RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES than were given to American citizens who were of African or Mexican decent! The got better food, better accomodation, better medical care, sat in the best seats on transport trains. The Germans were white, so I guess that explains why our non-white enemies are now treated so badly. Anyone else noticed that as the Republicans forget morals and ethics G-d forgets America?

Since the US Constitution doesn't state otherwise, every time a gun murderer is released from prison he/she should be provided with an AK-47 and a wheel barrel of ammo. Folks, isn't it a matter of perspective? Little Bush raced into the Guard for safety whereas McCain went to Nam; yet, you voted for Bush!!! With no proper perspective about war, little Bush then sent others racing, away from safety and needlessly into Iraq so that he, Bush, could become the great war hero, which he eschewed doing by going to Nam for himself. He would do it at the expense of other people’s sons and daughters. Thus, your improper perspective about Bush/v/McCain has cost over four thousand Americans their lives, maybe hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives, millions of lives destroyed in one way or another and a trillion dollar blunder of a black hole in Iraq from which no one can escape except our allies. You hate the constitutionally provided: Freedom of the Press. Yet, words don't hurt people. People carrying guns do. Go figure!!! The next gun death won't be caused by a murderer but by your neighbor who is angry at someone for not keeping his/her dog quiet. I will bet that the parents of the boy, who shot himself at that gun show last week, now have a different perspective on life and guns. No one is anti gun. Many people are anti violence which is so often associated with guns. Similarly, people are not anti autos, but vehicle related deaths are cause for chagrin. It’s all about perspective.

You are a great one to talk about God, GlobalEye. Your candidate is a racist, taught to be so by his mentor and pastor, Jeremiah Wright. The Constitution is for CITIZENS! Are we clear? CITIZENS! We don't even know whether the Communist Organizer is one. The right to keep and bear arms was acknowledged as a check on tyranny as much as a means of self-defense. We must preserve the means to rise up and overthrow any attempt to pervert the Constitution, or establish a one-party or one-man dictatorship. Vote for McCain/Palin to be certain that won't happen.

The supreme court voted for the second amendment rights, Appointment by a president to the court, could change that pretty quickly. Hope we vote right.
