U.S., Russia must unite to lessen nuclear dangers

To partner with Russia the U.S. would have to cede the old Soviet Empire back and abandon NATO to Russia's enegy intimidation needs. That is Putin's current phased space. Principled diplomacy has failed primarily because of the dysfunctional way multilateralism has evolved from the 1990's. We may have global consensus but compliance is strictly regional and based on economic, political and military power interests. The U.N. is the chess board and Russia has constantly made moves that make any partnership totally beneficial on their part with regard to nuclear proliferation and the EU normalizes it all down to not making waves. This does not make them a partner but an adversary to global stability.
