WHATEVER, WHENEVER# — One thing Wizards coach Eddie Jordan is tired of talking about these days is the status of injured forward Jerry Stackhouse.
When asked about a possible return in the near future, Jordan’s response clearly indicated he is not counting on Stackhouse’s return from knee surgery any time soon.
“Jerry is doing his thing on the side, cloak and dagger, I don’t know,” Jordan said. “I’m not watching him. But I don’t know if it’s one month, two months, two years, I don’t know. But when he says he’s ready to go, he’ll go.”
DID YOU KNOW? — With the resignation of Redskins coach Steve Spurrier, Wizards first-year coach Eddie Jordan is the longest tenured coach among the major sports teams in the city.
IN THE ROTATION — Although the return of Gilbert Arenas sends Steve Blake back to the bench, he has clearly earned a spot in the team’s rotation.
“Oh, he’s a valuable asset to us. He’s the only true point guard that we really have,” Jordan said. “Steve is just as good as any other rookie point guard in the league.”
Jordan intends to continue using Blake as the first guard off the bench behind Larry Hughes and Arenas.
