Sarah Palin - Pentecostal

If Sarah Palin and John McCain win this November, she'd surpass John Ashcroft in terms of being the nation's most famous Pentecostal. She is a member of the Assemblies of God, one of the country's fastest-growing religious groups along with the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and Roman Catholics.

When my father, a Coast Guard admiral, got orders to Alaska in 1978, I got to go to Juneau where I was amazed at the huge numbers of religious TV stations available; far more than in, say, Seattle or Portland. The Assemblies is really strong in Alaska and is No. 7 in the country in terms of percentage (1.6 percent) of the state's population it claims. Its web site claims 11,242 adherents which may not sound like much but getting to church at all can be a real feat in a state with weather conditions like Alaska's. The Pacific Northwest is traditionally less churched than other parts of the country but Alaska is quite different: a state first missionized by the Russian Orthodox and now a hospitable place for pentecostal denominations such as the Four Square churches and Assemblies of God.

The emails and press releases are pouring in now from delighted religious and conservative groups: Family Research Council, Traditional Values Coalition, the Susan B. Anthony List, Life Issues Institute, Fidelis and more. Nearly all have noted something that did not come up in her acceptance speech: Now her newborn son, Trig, was  diagnoses in the womb as having Downs Syndrome. Although 80 percent of such children are aborted, the Alaska governor kept her child, which has won her undying gratitude from pro-lifers everywhere.

So it's Joe Biden, the liberal Catholic vs Sarah Polin, the "God-fearing, gun-totting former beauty queen" as one account describes her. What a great fall this will be.

Sarah Palin has shown character when others weren't looking. No one would have known if she did not keep her unborn child. She has faced family problems, a cause for some political problems for her in Alaska, the current investigation being a reward for her reform efforts. Like Tedd Roosevelt, she stood up against the Republican machine and its democrat colluders. Just like T.R. maybe they hope as V.P. she won't bother them anymore. History however may have other intentions.

If the differences at the top of the ticket aren't obvious to you, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Who cares what denomination Palin is?

As a matter of fact Sarah Palin's affiliation with Assembly of God does matter...it implies views on creationism, gay rights, school vouchers, abortion rights, Supreme Court justices, Israel and the Middle East...it is very likely that she, like John Ashcroft, would share views with Jan and Paul Crouch, Benny Hinn and other TBN characters...I would not want someone in the White House who belives that he or she might be carried off at any moment by the 'rapture'...

You gotta love John McCain for the maverick that he is! Imagine him choosing a woman for a running mate. Especially a woman who places children in the womb (ie: human life) above polar bears!!! Who does Governor Sarah Palin think she is? And, she has the audacity to believe that GOD created the Universe and that we didn't evolve from apes (well most of us didn't). What an affront to feminists! She actually owns and knows how to shoot a handgun! Who does Governor Palin think she is--just because the Constitution of the United States says that citizens have the right to own handguns doesn't mean a WOMAN can own one, you know? Okay, so she IS a Governor of a State which means she manages and holds the highest office in the State--Come on, Obama is a Senator and he tries to make laws along with 99 of his fellow senators (as long as he can get a majority and the President doesn't veto it). So what if he hasn't done anything in the Senate yet, he's only been there a couple of years (oops)! Governor Palin 'only' received an 80% favorable rating of all the Governors in our country. What about the other 20%, huh??? Oh yeah, Mac is 72 but have you seen his 96 year old mother? She's a fox! Next go round, in 2012, Hillary will be 69 --she just may be too old by then, too. And if Mac and Palin get elected they'll probably do the Alaskan Pipeline oil drilling and our gas prices will come down dramatically. Wouldn't that be awful??? And you know what else? There is no climate change in Alaska--how does she do that? You gotta admit it though, Governor Palin IS hotter than Joe Biden! But really who does Governor Palin think she is--An Accomplished Woman or something??? NOBAMA--KEEP THE CHANGE!

RCV, "...would share views with Jan and Paul Crouch, Benny Hinn and other TBN characters" AOG are within the pale of orthodoxy. Most of TBN, inparticular the ones that you mentioned are as I have heard it said "So far out you can't get a radar fix on them." and basically they are in the Demi Moore role where she distracts Michael Douglas from the real problem, they distract people from the person of Jesus because afterall if ya gotta have hair like that, who'd want to know more about THAT Jesus ;)

People don't know that the Pentecostal Church was created by a freed black slave named William J. Seymour around 1900. Seymour wanted to create a church where both blacks and whites could worship together and believed in racial intergration. Seymour also believed that women should have a greater role in leadership roles in his church. Google "William J. Seymour. So the Pentecostal Church was created by an African-American man who believed in equality in whorship and inclusion of women as leaders. So is that the part that is extreme? Many black people in the US believe in Speaking in Tongues. It is one of the major movements created by a pioneering black man. Also let's compare Obama's church to Palin's. Obama's church preached racial division and that the U.S. was behind AIDs to kill black people. Obama's church believes that Israel is a terrible country and Obama's church preached hatred of the U.S. calling it Amerikkka. I guess some liberal Obama cheerleaders in the "mainstream" media didn't find THAT extreme, but found a church that wanted blacks and whites to whorship under the same roof 'extreme'.

If McCain has not stepped up to the plate for this country, I do not know who has. Google his POW video that has just been released. His children, as well as, one of Palin's children is serving this country in the military. Can we say that the other candidates are this patriotic?
