As has become the Monday tradition in Ashburn, Redskins coach Jim Zorn started his afternoon press conference with the laundry list of injuries.

Zorn, battling a cough, started with Ladell Betts, who has a torn MCL and a partially torn ACL in his left knee. They going to spend more time talking to Betts and to the doctors about surgery and a an injured reserve decision, but realistically, "I don't expect to have him back," Zorn said.

The team also lost rookie fullback Eddie Williams, who had surgery on his broken fibula. He definitely will go on the injured reserve.

Add those losses to the fact that Clinton Portis already has been ruled out for this weekend's game at Philadelphia, and that leaves the Redskins with Rock Cartwright, Quinton Ganther and Mike Sellers as the only healthy running backs on the roster. As a result, they team is going to make an offer to Marcus Mason to rejoin the squad. Zorn also already listed Portis as questionable for the next weekend's game against the Saints.

Other injuries of note:

- Second-year guard Chad Rinehart was in surgery this morning, getting screws and a plate on his fractured right fibula. He'll go on the injured reserve.

- Tight end Chris Cooley made another doctor visit, and he'll have to be in his walking boot for another 10 days, keeping weight off of the ankle. Zorn called this a "setback." With any realistic postseason hopes gone, you have to think the team will consider putting Cooley on the IR just so they can get another healthy body on the roster.

- The other injuries you'd have to classify as minor, at least compared to the others, though it sounds like the two biggest offseason acquisitions might not play on Sunday: Albert Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall.

Hall sprained his MCL against the Cowboys and is questionable for the Eagles game. Haynesworth, who didn't play against Dallas, is spending more time on the treadmill, trying "to get the strength back in his ankle so he can handle a load the he creates on his foot," according to Zorn. But the coach wouldn't give a timetable for Haynesworth's return.

- The team's other big fella, offensive tackle Mike Williams, is in the same boat as Haynesworth, according to Zorn, though he expects to get him back on the practice field this week. He also could see some time at guard again, as will Edwin Williams.

Zorn, seemingly tongue in cheek, said "Everything else is minor."
