Actor Robert De Niro features in a video from the activist group Hands Off Our Vote that claims the Trump administration is attempting to block fair elections in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
“Voting is a constitutional right, but you have to see that this administration and the Supreme Court aren’t paying any attention to our constitutional rights,” Mr. De Niro, 83, says in the video posted Thursday.
“Voting should be easy,” he continues. “You decide who you like and cast your ballot. Simple, right? For example, if you want to elect politicians to prop up a would-be king who gets us into a disastrous war and corruptly profits from it, you can find them.”

Mr. De Niro goes on to call Americans’ right to vote their “superpower.”
“But there’s a catch,” he added, “There are some powerful people who want to take away that power.”
“I’ve got a message for them: No f—ing way,” Mr. De Niro says later in the video.
The dig at President Trump is nothing new for the “Goodfellas” actor, who has had tough words for the president since before Mr. Trump was even elected to office in 2016.
The Hands Off Our Vote site echoes Mr. De Niro’s messaging on its homepage that reads, “This administration wants to keep us from voting so they can control our elections and seize more authoritarian power.”
“They’re doing everything they can to make us feel isolated and powerless,” the message continues. “We refuse to accept this.”
